Atiku Abubakar/Peter Obi: Let The Show Begin.

The new presidential flag bearer of the People’s Democratic Party Alhaji Abubakar Atiku continues to work hard and round the clock to sustain his campaign. He has made another giant move immediately after mending fence with his former boss Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.

He has picked the former governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi as his vice presidential candidate. This is after due consultation with the stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
Reactions among Nigerians suggest that the choice of the former governor is a good one. Peter Obi’s administrative and leadership skills will fortify the chance of Alhaji Abubakar Atiku becoming the president of Nigeria, come 2019.

What does this mean for the incumbent president Buhari/Osinbajo 2019 re-elction bid? We have witnessed an incredible amount of crisis in APC. This is resulting from All Progressive Congress primaries in almost all states of the federation. In the same vein, the People’s Democratic Party is waxing stronger every day after learning from previous crisis. Will history repeats itself to defeat the incumbent? Only time will tell.

What is the chance of PDP

The last two governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun has shown the presence of Peoples Democratic Party PDP to the half of their electorates. The All Progressive Congress only escaped in Osun state by the whiskers. It means the south west is almost 50/50 chance for these two big parties. The south east is the traditional home of PDP.  The north central is bedeviled by security crisis and not happy with the current government. Atiku Abubakar is also a giant northern politician in good command followers in the north and by all standards a rich. Atiku has continued to garner support and endorsements from very high places.

On your marks to Aso villa if the pedigree Peter Obi and the political weight of Alhaji Atiku plus various endorsements from various quarters will be enough to stop the APC led government.
